Pvtistes
the working holiday in an app
iOS and Android app for the pvtistes.net community: your destination feed, a step-by-step checklist, a budget simulator and an encrypted vault
Understanding the need
pvtistes.net has supported Working Holiday Visa applicants since 2005. The iOS and Android app brings together what the website offered page by page and takes it along with the traveller, from the first doubts to the return home: the feed for their destination, the checklist of formalities, the budget simulator, a vault for their documents and the whole community.
Identifying the stakes
Twenty years of guides and discussions on a website people consult before leaving, then leave behind once they arrive. The app had to follow each person over time and show them only what matches their stage and destination, while storing passport, visa and insurance without ever being able to read them.
The bespoke answer
An app published on the App Store and Google Play, organised around the chosen destination. The feed brings together arrivals, the wall, outings and job offers; the morning editorial picks up what has just been published on pvtistes.net, linked to the current stage. The checklist covers formalities country by country and is also available on the website. The simulator estimates the budget item by item from real prices in the arrival city. Documents in the vault are encrypted on the phone before any upload, with a key that exists only on the user's side.
